Job Description:
We're looking for an IT Audit Associate 3 to join our Audit Services, Asia at MBPS. In this role, you are primarily accountable for completing audit tasks in relation to audit projects assigned (e.g. Key Risk Audit (KRA), IT General Controls Testing (ITGC), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), validation of corrective actions for audit issue closure). The candidate assists the Director in the delivery of high quality, professional, cost-effective, value-added and risk-based audits of assigned areas, segments and countries (including MBPS, global functions, Asia and GWAM segments).
While remaining totally independent, Audit Services function provides added value by working with management at all levels to improve the management of various forms of risk. Audit Services provides assurance services to senior management and the board of directors which assist them in discharging their responsibilities for overseeing the management of risk in Manulife.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute various types of audit tasks as assigned (e.g. lead business process understanding walkthroughs, ITGC design and operating effectiveness testing) within time budgets and target dates, reporting any timing problems or budget over-runs to responsible project leads and Directors.
- Participate in departmental initiatives for continuous improvement such as regular reporting and risk assessments.
- Assist in evaluating the management of risk and internal controls in business. Assist the project leads and Directors in presenting the findings to and reach agreement with the business unit management; make practical and value-added recommendations to improve control environment and efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
- Assist in issue follow-up with business unit/regional management regularly on the status/ implementation of corrective action plans for timely audit issue closure.
- Ensure quality of work completed and in accordance with the audit methodology, departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in preparing the audit reports; audit reports are to be clear, concise and well-organized.
- Assist in preparing presentation materials for various committees and executive meetings.
- Utilize data analytics techniques to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit process.
- Liaise and collaborate with local and onshore audit teams.
- Provide guidance and assist new team members.
Minimum Skills To Hire:
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 2+ years relevant experience (e.g. external auditing firm, IT internal audit, project management, appropriate business title will be assigned based on the successful candidate's experiences and competency.
- Good knowledge of life insurance and asset management business, audit methodologies, ITGC, SOX testing, control frameworks and risk management techniques.
- General understanding of systems development, IT infrastructure and IT Control Framework will be beneficial.
- Recognized accounting (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) or auditing (CIA, CISA, CRISC) professional designation
- General understanding of systems development, IT infrastructure and IT Control Framework is a plus.
- Data analytics skills (Advanced Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, etc) is a plus.
- Fast learner, self-motivated, detailed oriented and with commitment to quality.
- Good communication skills, oral and written. Able to deal with confrontations and resolve conflicts.
- Results oriented; able to strike balance on multiple priorities and projects.
- Sound business judgment in assessing significance of issues and developing value added recommendations.
- Strong team-player who willingly and openly shares ideas and knowledge. Able to collaborate with different business units and team members in a multi-cultural environment.
