The Inside Sales Represtantive (ISR) will work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to generate and qualify leads, convert these leads into new customers, grow existing accounts and meet (or exceed) quarterly sales quotas.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- _MONITOR, QUALIFY AND MANAGE LEADS_
The ISR will manage lead qualification and the early sales stages for the sales team. Sales inquiries and other marketing-generated leads may come from a variety of sources that need to be regularly monitored (i.e. email boxes, phone inquiries, social media, web forms, event marketing, etc.). Timely responses, coupled with deep product knowledge, account research and a clear understanding of the lead source will assist in expeditious response and an appropriate lead engagement plan.
- _UNDERTAKE FURTHER LEAD/ACCOUNT RESEARCH_
The ISR is responsible to conduct additional research on the company and the individual before and after a lead is engaged in order to facilitate the lead engagement plans.
- _CONVERT LEADS_
Following initial lead research and qualification, the ISR will share the qualified leads with the sales team. Efficient transfer of background information gained from research activities and/or prospect engagement is necessary for any successful sales conversion. The ISR collaborates with the leads and internal sales team to schedule client visits, conduct product demos, and perform pre-sales activities to convert the lead to an active customer.
- _LEAD FOLLOW-UP_
The ISR will follow-up on the qualified leads and new customers to ensure that excellent customer relationships are built and maintained.
The scope of the ISR's responsibilities may also include:
- _LEAD RESEARCH AND PROSPECTING_
Using available information and tools (the Leads database, conference proceedings, industry publications, etc.), undertake research on the industry to uncover new leads for processing.
- _TRENDING, ANALYSIS, AND OPTIMIZATION_
The ISR will be responsible for contributing to the analysis of prospect inquiry and lead trends. Additionally, the role should provide internal feedback as to the quality of leads coming from each marketing channel (email, phone, web forms, etc.) to spot best practices and areas for improvement in lead generation.
- _CRM AND LEADS DATABASE MAINTENANCE_
Regular maintenance of our CRM and LEADS database will be required to ensure no incomplete or redundant data exists. Additional tasks may include updating the type of information we collect and report.
Success in this position requires a passion for talking with people, solving problems, persistence, identifying opportunities and winning. This role includes heavy call volume and email follow-up with the goal of identifying Sales Qualified Leads (SQL). The success of the ISR will be measured based on:
Number of engagements made in a period
Number of SQL opportunities created
Efficiency/accuracy with which inbound leads are processed
Pipeline size attributable to ISR activity and revenue generated
- Qualifications/Competencies/Position Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal, written and telephone skills supported by strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team structure.
Sales skills to include demonstrated closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses considered a strong plus.
Ability to learn and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.
Excellent organizational skills
Computer literacy required
Ability to manipulate and manage spreadsheets.
- Education and Experience:
4-year Business or Life Sciences Degree; or an Associate Degree with two (2) years related Sales/Telemarketing experience.
