- Canada Asset Management & Individual Insurance & Investments (ISS) team is in search of a collaborative Senior Software Engineer with the ability to deliver the analysis, solution design, development, and implementation of projects who is an effective communicator who will utilize their technical/business knowledge to lead technical discussions with project development teams, business sponsors, and external technical partners in a manner that ensures understanding of risks, options, and overall solutions who has the ability to effectively consult/support technical discussions with peers and Business Sponsors ensuring alignment to both technology and business visions who is a collaborative team member who continuously strives to improve the client experience, our team, and our processes and who keeps current with trends in emerging technologies and how they could apply to Sun Life.

- 8+ years progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience
- Excellent working knowledge of the IBM OS/390 mainframe environment
- Experience and understanding of TSO/ISPF, DB2, IMS, JCL and other mainframe utilities
- Working knowledge of the Cobol / PLI and SAS development languages
- Understanding of MQ Series and other middleware technologies
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory, Ansible and CDD

- Graduate of BS Computer Science or other IT equivalent course
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge of Insurance and Wealth Investments Financial Service industries
- Excellent problem analysis and trouble shooting skills

- Keen appetite for learning relevant technologies and for continuous self-improvement
- Willing to work on mid-shift schedule

- Create/update living documentation for current design and participate in peer reviews
- Key participant in providing estimates and identifying key stakeholders
