POSITION: Infrastructure Engineer - DEPARTMENT: Infrastructure Engineering
The Infrastructure Deployment Engineer is responsible for the planning, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure for our internet service operations. This role involves working with various network devices, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring high standards of network performance and reliability.
Network Installation and Configuration:
o Deploy and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware.
o Install and manage physical cabling and connections.
o Set up and configure network monitoring and management tools.
Project Management:
o Survey, plan and execute network infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and efficient deployment.
o Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
o Prepare and maintain project documentation, including plans, schedules, and progress reports.
Surveying using various methodologies and technologies of infrastructure, reviewing the quality of survey data, and translating to feature survey plans for design purposes.
Investigation, inspections, and collection of site data/conditions for design purposes
Design of various infrastructure projects by design briefs and directions, applying best practice design principles and standards.
Prepare cost estimates and specifications supporting designs, appropriate for procurement purposes.
Administration duties as associated with design management.
Prepare project management documentation including project plans, Gantt charts, and contract documentation for projects.
Other general duties as directed by the direct Supervisor.
- SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Have previous experience in the use of CAD design software, word processing, and spreadsheet software packages
Knowledge of the design process, drafting techniques
Application of guidelines, standards, regulations, and codes to designs
Ability to interpret design plans and specifications.
MANAGEMENT SKILLS:
Be able to plan and organize daily routine in order to achieve and complete responsibilities within given time as assigned by the direct Supervisor.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Requires the ability to gain cooperation and assistance from others.
Requires good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Requires good self-motivation.
Ability to communicate with fellow staff, community, contractors, and service authorities.
- QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The following qualifications and experience are required for the position: Mandatory.
BS-Electronics and Communication Engineering degree, BS Electrical Engineering
Can work under pressure and the ability to work with subcontractors.
Experience working in a telecom company is an advantage.
Having a PRC License as an Electronics Engineer or Electrical Engineer is a plus.
Numeracy and estimating skills.
Microsoft Office skills
Ability to use computer software, especially ssdesign packages (i.e. CAD)
Proven experience in network deployment and management, preferably in an ISP environment.
Experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Globe, Converge, PLDT)
Knowledge of network security principles and practices
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong project management and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
