Job SummaryThe Importation Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services from international suppliers. This role involves managing the import process, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining cost-effective strategies while ensuring the timely delivery of quality products.
- Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for international sourcing.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers.
Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Import Process Management:
- Oversee the entire importation process, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation.
Ensure compliance with all import regulations and requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for efficient inventory management.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor and control procurement budgets.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.- Analyze market trends to forecast procurement needs and optimize costs.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all imported goods meet the company's quality standards.
Work closely with the quality control team to address any issues.
- Implement supplier performance evaluation processes.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the importation process and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations.- Monitor geopolitical and economic factors that may impact procurement.
- Team Management:
- Lead and develop a team of procurement specialists
Provide training and support to team members.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Quantity Analysis
- Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast procurement needs
Determine the quantity of products needed based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production schedules.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand demand fluctuations and adjust procurement plans accordingly
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in international procurement or supply chain management.
Strong knowledge of import regulations and compliance.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.- Ability to manage and develop a team
