Import Manager Job Description
Location: Carmona, Cavite, Philippines
Work Setup: Full Onsite | 48hrs/week (Mon-Sat)
Reporting to: Chief Purchasing Officer
Target of the Position:
- Responsible for the whole import process from start to finish, from cargo readiness to delivery at warehouse, and transfers between warehouses.
- Obtain lowest cost and best terms and conditions for the company with the logistic partners. Negotiates the contracts with forwarders/shipping lines.
- Ensure timely shipment and arrival of imported goods.
- Ensure that all imports are in compliance with international and domestic regulations, especially bureau of customs.
- Works will all departments in collaboration in each subject to get the best results for the company.
- Leads the import team (import assistants).
Specific Powers and Responsibilities:
Search and identify logistic providers for the company to work with.
Negotiate contracts with forwarders/shipping lines.
Coordinate and secure with the third parties the necessary documents for BOC clearance.
Apply and secure approval of permit or registration from different agencies such as BIR, DTI, BFAR whichever is applicable.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to imports and exports.
Develop and implement policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
Monitor and analyse import data to identify compliance issues and take corrective actions.
Maintain and update the import database.
Prepare and submit required reports to management.
Organize the inhouse manufacturing allocations to distribution centres.
Organize in the future our own trucks to pick up the containers at the port and to deliver at our distribution centres.
Supervise the ordering process of import products and informs management in case of deviations.
