Key Responsibilities
- Training and Development:
- Participate in a structured training program under the guidance of a Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
- Learn and master the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including cleaning procedures, staff management, and quality control.
- Observe and assist experienced supervisors in various tasks to gain practical experience.
- Supervision Assistance:
- Support the Housekeeping Supervisor in overseeing daily housekeeping activities, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and staff coordination.
- Assist in assigning tasks to housekeeping staff and ensuring they are completed efficiently and to standard.
- Provide support in training new staff members and reinforcing established cleaning protocols.
- Quality Control:
- Assist in inspecting guest rooms and public areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness and quality standards.
- Address and report any issues or complaints related to cleanliness or maintenance to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
- Learn to implement quality control procedures and assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Help in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Assist in coordinating with other departments (e.g., front desk, maintenance) to ensure smooth operations and address any issues impacting housekeeping.
- Inventory and Supplies:
- Learn to monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens.
- Assist in ordering and stocking supplies, and ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment.
- Health and Safety:
- Gain knowledge of health and safety regulations related to housekeeping.
- Assist in ensuring that all cleaning procedures comply with safety standards and that staff follow proper protocols.
- Administrative Duties:
- Support administrative tasks such as preparing reports, processing work orders, and maintaining records.
- Learn to assist with budget management and cost control under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certifications in hospitality management or related fields is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a housekeeping role is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong willingness to learn, good organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. Ability to work well under supervision and take direction.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and safety standards; interest in pursuing a career in housekeeping management.

- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
