As a Service Attendant/Housekeeping or Cleaner at our Fitness Club, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and staff. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing gym equipment, locker rooms, fitness areas, and administrative spaces to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall member experience by providing a spotless and well-maintained environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fitness Areas: Clean and disinfect gym equipment, including treadmills, weights, and machines, ensuring all surfaces are free of dust and grime. Regularly check and replenish cleaning supplies in these areas.Locker Rooms:
Maintain cleanliness in locker rooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and lockers. Ensure all surfaces are sanitized and stocked with necessary supplies such as paper towels and soap.Administrative and Public Areas:
Clean and maintain public spaces such as the reception area, hallways, and staff offices. This includes dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and ensuring a tidy appearance throughout the club.Supplies:
Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock levels are adequate and reporting any shortages or needs for restocking.Equipment:
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and steam cleaners, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly serviced.Standards:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).Protocols:
Follow established protocols for cleaning and sanitation to maintain a hygienic environment and reduce the risk of infections and injuries.Requests:
Respond to member requests for additional supplies or assistance with a positive and helpful attitude.Feedback:
Address any member concerns related to cleanliness or facility maintenance and report significant issues to management.Logs:
Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including daily checklists and any maintenance or repair issues that arise.Reports:
Communicate with management about any problems or hazards encountered during cleaning, such as broken equipment or facility damage.Coordination:
Work collaboratively with other service attendants, housekeeping staff, and fitness club personnel to ensure efficient operations and effective communication.Training:
Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on best practices, cleaning techniques, and club policies.Deep Cleaning:
Perform as needed, such as carpet cleaning, high dusting, and extensive equipment sanitation.Event Support:
Assist with setting up and cleaning up after special events or fitness classes as required.
Qualifications and SkillsEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or a similar role is beneficial but not essential.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow cleaning protocols and instructions, good time management, and basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
