FUNCTION/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Ensures the faithful implementation of the center's policies, protocols, and procedures in providing quality patient care.
b. Performs the functions, duties, and responsibilities of a Hemodialysis Technician.
c. Ensures proper labelling, reuse process and maintenance of patient's dialyzers as indicated in the Dialyzer Handling Protocol.
d. Conducts and record TDS Meter reading daily before the start of treatment day and monitors HD machines every after treatment day. Documents pertinent data to Hemodialysis Machine Daily Monitoring Record form countersigned by the Nurse Manager.
e. Conducts and record daily monitoring of RO system to RO Daily Monitoring Sheet form.
f. Documents and records maintenance of hemodialysis machines and RO system.
g. Ensures proper documentation by checking the completeness of the monitoring sheets.
h. Submits daily inventory of RO and reuse supplies (e.g. HD Solutions, Bloodlines, Dialyzer, etc.). Reports to the Head Nurse critical stock level to facilitate purchasing process.
i. Assists nurses as well as physicians as required, and may perform basic administrative duties such as answering the phone and data entry and filling.
j. Reports to the Head Nurse all necessary records, data, and problems needed immediate attention
k. Directly coordinates with the Head Nurse all issues regarding the machine and machine repair.
l. Clean hemodialysis machines and treatment chairs after use of each patient and on a routine basis following Housekeeping Protocol.
m. Other responsibilities may include cleaning and sanitizing dialysis treatment areas based on schedule following Housekeeping Protocol.
n. Keeps the cleanliness of the hemodialysis unit.
o. Conducts preventive maintenance quarterly _every last Sunday of January, April, July, and October, _annual preventive maintenance _every last Sunday of January_ and corrective maintenance of hemodialysis machines as required.
p. Facilitates water sample for periodic water analysis as scheduled (Refer to Water Treatment protocol).
q. Conducts scheduled RO sanitation as indicated (Refer to Water Treatment protocol).
r. Responsible in accomplishing the Job Order form countersigned by the Head Nurse.
