Job Description

Job Overview: The Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy-duty trucks (6-wheeler to 10-wheeler vehicles), forklifts, and grab lifts. The mechanic will ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently to support operational needs.

  • Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and Diagnose: Perform regular inspections on heavy trucks, forklifts, and grab lifts to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
Engine Work: Repair or replace defective engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
Hydraulic Systems: Maintain and repair hydraulic systems on forklifts and grab lifts.Electrical Systems: Diagnose and repair electrical issues including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work comply with safety regulations and standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Log all work performed in maintenance management systems.
Parts Management: Coordinates with Maintenance Material Control and Planner in maintaining parts, ensuring an adequate supply of spare parts is available.Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency repair needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with operators and other maintenance team members to ensure all equipment issues are addressed timely.
Training: Stay updated with industry best practices and participate in ongoing training and development.

  • Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment and truck maintenance and repair.Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g. NC1 or NC2) are a plus.

  • Skills:
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck systems and components.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license, preferably with a commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Availability for on-call work and overtime as needed.
  • Work Environment:

Work may be performed in a workshop or outdoor settings, depending on the location of the equipment.
  • Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous conditions.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php17,
  • 00 - Php25,000.00 per month
