Job Description
The Opportunity
This role is accountable for managing the delivery of Health portfolio programs. It is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the Health portfolio's products and propositions, fostering alignment with enterprise business strategies and driving growth and competitiveness within the insurance market.
This role will effectively oversee the diverse aspects of managing a portfolio, aligning strategies with business objectives, mitigating risks, and helping drive success. This role will also collaborate with key cross functional teams, third-party health administration, reinsurance, and value-added services partners to help ensure a consistent fantastic customer experience and financial targets set are met.
This role will provide valued support to the Health Product and Proposition team by leading the development and management of the teams systems and management dashboards. It shall be responsible and will provide the Head of Health support in managing the Health organization budget and resources.
This person will be a thought leader and subject matter expert in program management ensuring the project, and ensuring customer experience and outcome targets set for the health programs are met by proving implementation and best practice management systems services to the Health Product and Proposition team.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Planning and Strategy
- Collaborate with Products Division, Head of Health, Product and Proposition Managers to align the portfolio's objectives and delivery strategy with the company's overall strategy.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio strategy considering best practices, market trends, customer needs, and company goals.
Execution Oversight
- Lead the execution of the portfolio strategy by coordinating with Product and Proposition Managers, ensuring alignment with defined goals and timelines.
- Ensure all Health initiative have accurate execution status. Monitor the progress of individual products and propositions projects, identifying and addressing any issues or deviations from plans.
Risk and Issue Management
- Identify potential risks and issues that could impact the portfolio's success and develop mitigation strategies.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues promptly and minimize disruptions to the portfolio's execution.
Resource Allocation and Optimization
- Collaborate with resource managers to allocate resources effectively across products and propositions, ensuring optimal utilization and prioritization.
- Continuously assess resource needs and reallocate as necessary to support the portfolio's objectives.
Performance Tracking and Reporting
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of products and propositions within the portfolio.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate portfolio progress and Health team budget, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed actions.
Stakeholder Communication
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders, including Product Managers, Proposition Managers, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
- Function as a focal point for updates on portfolio progress, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders as needed.

What We Are Looking For
- Graduate of a bachelor degree preferably major in Technical/Engineering degree
- Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in program or portfolio management within the insurance, healthcare, or financial services industry.
- Prior experience with Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects
- Strong understanding of healthcare or insurance products, market dynamics, and proposition development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills, able to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
- Pro-active thinker and individual contributor, analytical and excellent problem-solving skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Ability to develop and execute portfolio strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives, considering market trends, customer needs, and business goals.
- Proficiency in portfolio management methodologies, including planning, execution, monitoring, and optimization of product and proposition portfolios.
- A strong understanding of insurance or healthcare products, propositions, market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends is crucial for informed decision-making.
- Excellent and agile leadership skills to drive cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and align stakeholders towards portfolio objectives.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities to articulate portfolio strategies, progress, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
