Position: Head of Transport-Vendor Management and Control Tower Management

Objective
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations for Crossdock, Inland Trucking, RORO Business, Transport-Vendor Management, and Control Tower Management, this role is tasked with sourcing the necessary truck types and equipment crucial for supporting the company's anticipated exponential growth. It offers leadership opportunities within the organization, directly influencing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of transportation servicesa critical aspect for our overall growth and profitability. This position entails crafting and executing strategic sourcing plans, optimizing transportation costs, nurturing vital vendor relationships, and contributing to sustainability in truck and equipment supply. Additionally, it involves leading the establishment and management of a robust Control Tower, including company-owned trucks. This role requires cross-functional collaboration, staying abreast of industry trends, and continuous professional development in the dynamic field of transportation sourcing.
Responsibilities
Transport-Vendor Management:
Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies to ensure a consistent, cost-effective supply of fleets, trucks, and equipment.
Identify, evaluate, and engage potential suppliers, assessing their capacity, reputation, and compliance.
Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, focusing on advantageous terms related to price, quality, and delivery.
Evaluate the ideal mix of Truck Supply between Subcon truckers and In-House Company Owned Trucks.
Spearhead a drivers school program accredited by the LTO to produce professional drivers.
Cultivate strategic relationships with key suppliers, ensuring tailored, innovative solutions.
Analyze market trends and technological advancements to optimize procurement processes.
Collaborate with other departments to align procurement activities with company objectives.
Ensure compliance with ethical standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Provide leadership to the sourcing team and implement performance metrics.
Oversee adherence to safety, emissions, and environmental regulations.
Optimize cargo consolidation, routing, and volume management.
Deliver regular reports to senior management on procurement activities and supplier performance.
Control Tower Management:
Lead the establishment and management of a robust Control Tower for monitoring and optimizing supply chain and transportation activities.
Implement real-time tracking and monitoring systems to enhance visibility and efficiency.
Collaborate with suppliers and service providers to ensure seamless communication and alignment with operational requirements.
Analyze market trends and emerging best practices to optimize transportation processes.
Work closely with various departments to align control tower activities with company objectives.
Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the Control Tower.
Ensure adherence to safety, emissions, and environmental regulations within control tower operations.
Deliver regular reports to senior management on control tower activities and highlight any risks or opportunities.
