Head of Purchasing

PURCHASING HEAD (AGRICULTURE):

Mode of Employment: Permanent / FTE

Working Schedule: 6 days per week (likely mid-shift or night shift)

Work Location: Balintawak, QC (100% onsite)

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Head will be responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities within the company, ensuring the procurement of high-quality fresh farm produce at competitive prices.

This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and leading a team to achieve purchasing goals that align with the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop and execute procurement strategies for farm products while selecting and negotiating with suppliers to ensure quality and favorable terms.

Supply Chain Management: Monitor inventory and collaborate with logistics to ensure timely delivery and mitigate supply chain risks.

Market Analysis & Trend Monitoring: Stay informed on market trends and conduct research to inform data-driven procurement decisions.

Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the purchasing team while setting objectives and conducting performance reviews.

Budget Management: Manage the procurement budget and analyze data to track performance and identify improvement areas.

Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with regulations and implement quality assurance processes to maintain high product standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal departments to align procurement strategies and address any issues raised by stakeholders.

Job Specification:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM) is a plus.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the fresh farm product sector.

Experience in handling the procurement and purchasing team of a fresh produce wholesale trading company

Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and strategic sourcing.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
