Job Overview
The Head of Finance role will oversee the the financial operations in the Philippines. The role will be responsible for managing month-end closings, financial forecasting, and compliance with local tax and audit requirements. The ideal candidate will also implement best accounting practices, develop the finance team, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting and finance operations, including month-end close, financial forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Manage local tax compliance and filing requirements with government agencies (e.g., BIR, SEC, PEZA).
- Coordinate and facilitate annual audits with external auditors.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, methods, and principles to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify process improvements and recommend system enhancements for better financial reporting and control.
- Maintain organized files and records for transaction documentation.
- Support periodic reporting to the management.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing ongoing training and development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, delivering constructive feedback to support team growth.
- Promote efficient resource utilization and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
What Our Client Is Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any related fields.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant.
- Has at least 7 years of proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, Finance Manager, or any related roles.
- In-depth knowledge of Philippines Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), IFRS, and US GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, with ERP experience preferred (PeopleSoft knowledge is an advantage).
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on accuracy and internal controls.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive change and deliver results independently or within cross-functional teams.
- Leadership experience, with the potential to manage additional finance staff in the future.
- Strong ability to maintain productive relationships with government agencies and regulators.
