Head of Agronomy

Job Description:

• Lead and manage agronomy teams throughout the Philippines, ensuring effective coordination and implementation of agronomic activities

Develop and execute innovative and sustainable agronomic strategies to optimize crop yields, quality, and profitability for rice and corn cultivation

• Provide expert guidance and support to contract farmers on crop production techniques, including planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting

Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in rice and corn cultivation, integrating these insights into our agronomic strategies

• Conduct regular field visits and inspections to assess crop conditions, identify potential issues, and provide timely recommendations to farmers

Mentor and train agronomy staff and field technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge in crop management practices

• Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop tailored agronomic plans aligned with specific regional and farming conditions, while considering commercial aspects

Stay abreast of, and utilize new technologies and innovations in agronomy, remaining open and adaptable to integrating these advancements into our operations

• Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in agronomy, with a focus on rice and corn cultivation in the Philippines

• Demonstrated track record of successfully managing agronomy teams and driving agronomic initiatives to achieve desired outcomes

Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex agronomic issues and develop effective solutions

• Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with farmers, stakeholders, and internal teams

Strong leadership abilities, with experience in leading and mentoring a team of agronomy professionals

• Ability to make timely and informed decisions, even in high-pressure situations, to ensure the smooth operation of agronomic activities

Flexibility to travel frequently to different regions within the Philippines is a must

Pay: From Php100,

• 8 hour shift

Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:

• 13th month salary

Experience:
