Job Description

Job Summary

  • To implement an effective overall financial and business planning and monitoring of performance process in support of the Bank's strategic goals, initiatives and targets.

How will you contribute

  • Prepares the Bank's short-term (annual, semestral, quarterly) and long-term (up to 3 years) financial and capital plans and budgets based on guidelines agreed on by the Top Management. Provides Top Management, and other banking groups with the Bank's internal financial and capital plans and strategies to achieve budgetary targets (on a per business line).
  • Provides analytical support to Senior Management and guides them in making informed decisions by analyzing and determining the financial impact of various strategic options being contemplated by the Bank. Gathers information, recommends options, performs simulations, analyzes the impact, and determines the pros and cons of such strategic options.
  • Maintains a database of internal and external information relevant to the formulation of strategies and analysis of the Bank's performance as well as its competitors in the banking industry. Relates financial information to available non-quantitative information; analyzes trends; computes relevant financial ratios; and derives conclusions.
  • Coordinates the overall planning process of the Bank. Prepares planning framework and guidelines; assists units in drawing up their plans based on guidelines. Compiles business plans of all banking units (divisional inputs) and finalizes and designs it into one coherent and cohesive bankwide budget plan.
  • Monitors budget and performance versus plans. Informs Senior Management, on a periodic basis, of the extent in which goals and targets are being achieved. Provides bankwide analysis of RCBC's performance versus its goals and targets, and the approved annual budget or its medium-term plans.
  • Provides information and analysis of the Bank's performance to be used for external parties such as credit rating agencies and the credit analysts of other financial institutions. Prepares and delivers presentations on the latest financial performance of the Bank and the achievement of its goals or targets. Ensures a fair evaluation of the credit-worthiness of the Bank.
  • Monitors the performance of the Bank's subsidiaries and coordinates and recommends to these subsidiaries actions and initiatives to align their performance with the Bank's strategic goals.
  • Conducts research and special studies on new regulations or changes in the operating environment and analyzes the possible effects or opportunities for the Bank.
  • Keeps abreast of updates on the Bank and BSP policies as stipulated in the Anti Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Program (MLPP) through circulars, required seminars/programs and adheres to said policies.

What will make you successful

  • College graduate of business, economics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields, with an MBA (preferred).
  • With knowledge and experience in strategic planning and corporate finance.
  • With at least 5 years of experience in the banking industry.
