Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Graduate of Master of Arts in Education with Major in Guidance and Counseling- Registered Guidance Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and conduct individual and group counseling sessions or group guidance activities
- Facilitate enrichment/training programs for students and parents
- Administer, score and interpret tests
- Gather and record complete data for the individual inventory of students
- Assess needs of students that will serve as bases for guidance activities
- Consult activities with appropriate authorities to ensure the proper coordination of the programs and activities with other agencies in the school
- Collect and disseminate information to all concerned individuals
- Write and submit guidance-related reports and maintain records with confidentiality
- Follow-up students, parents and teachers on some important concerns.
- Place students in appropriate academic, social and occupational programs and settings.
- Conduct research and evaluation to determine effectiveness of strategies and services implemented.
- Refer clients to more qualified experts.
- Conduct meetings and discuss important matters with students, parents and teachers.
- Monitor attendance of students and inform parents about the results of the monitoring conducted.
- Conduct home visitations only when the situation calls for it.
- Update and upgrade skills and knowledge through attendance to different relatedseminars and trainings and through further studies.
- Participate actively in professional organizations for further career advancement.
- Assist the University Chaplain in the monthly confession and celebration of the Holy Mass for the respective college/department.
- Do other tasks deemed necessary as directed by the department head.
