Support Database Administrator (DBA): Global Customer Support
Job Specification-Roles Responsibilities
The Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our databases. This role requires expertise in database management, troubleshooting, and support, along with excellent communication skills to work effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
Database Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, upgrading, and maintenance of database systems.
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and efficiency. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Use monitoring tools to track database health and performance. Diagnose and resolve database issues promptly and efficiently.
Automation: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline database management tasks and improve efficiency.
Compliance: Ensure databases comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration: Work closely with Development, Product and DevOps to support database-related activities and projects.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, procedures, and processes.
Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL Server Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
Experience with cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS) is a plus.
Proficiency in SQL, database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security.
Proficient in using monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, and third-party tools like Redgate or SolarWinds.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Fluent in English
