Position Overview:The General Manager (GM) will oversee all aspects of cafe operations, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for both customers and staff of Eleonor's Cafe. The GM will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, financial performance, and team development while upholding the cafe's standards and values.
Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff management, and customer service.- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety are maintained.
Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and controlling stock levels.
- Implement and monitor procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Develop and manage the cafe budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses.
- Analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
Handle cash management, including banking, cash deposits, and reconciliation.
Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, including baristas, kitchen staff, and servers.- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and high employee morale.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any personnel issues in a timely and effective manner.
Ensure exceptional customer service by setting high standards and leading by example.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and drive repeat business.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute promotional campaigns and events.- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations.
Maintain accurate records of employee schedules, payroll, and operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local regulations.
Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of cafe operations, including barista skills, food preparation, and customer service.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and drive sales growth.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or a related field _preferred_.- 3+ years of experience in a managerial role within the cafe or restaurant industry.
