The General Accounting Staff member will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions and overseeing the disbursement process. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Handle the disbursement process, including vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and other outgoing payments.- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.- Reconcile discrepancies in financial records and statements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
Support the payroll process and assist with tax filings.- Address and resolve any issues related to disbursements and other financial transactions.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.- Experience in handling disbursements is highly preferred.
