Job Summary: The Finance and Accounting Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the finance and accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management. This role involves supervising a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team.- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans.
Ensure team members adhere to company policies and procedures.
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets.- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes.- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing and payments.
- General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.- Ensure accuracy of journal entries and financial transactions.
Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring liquidity and financial stability.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Support strategic planning initiatives with financial insights.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.- Implement best practices in financial management and accounting procedures.
Utilize technology and software to enhance financial operations.
- Stakeholder Communication:
Collaborate with various departments to support financial planning and decision-making.- Communicate financial information and insights to senior management.
Provide financial training and support to non-financial managers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
