Job Description

This is a remote position.

Job Summary: Our client is seeking a Bookkeeping & Tax Support Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will provide bookkeeping and tax preparation support. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as the business expands.

About The Role

Compensation: 2,000 AUD/month (paid bimonthly)

Schedule: Mondays-Fridays 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Brisbane Time

Start ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping tasks for approximately including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Prepare individual tax returns, including gathering necessary documentation and filing returns
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate client deliverables
  • Utilize the company's technology stack, including Karbon, Xero, and Practice Manager, to streamline workflows
  • Communicate professionally with clients via email, messaging, and other digital channels
  • Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping and/or tax preparation
  • Knowledge of Australian tax regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software and cloud-based tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
  • Has initiative and is a self-starter
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable with technology and able to quickly adapt to the company's tech stack.

Tech/Tool Stack:

  • Experience with Karbon an advantage: Primary workflow and project management tool used by the company. It handles email triage, task assignment, and collaboration.
  • Must have experience with Xero: The accounting software used for the bookkeeping work.
  • Experience or familiarity with Xero Practice Manager: The tax preparation software, which includes modules for work papers and tax returns.
  • Familiarity with Annature or similar tools: Used for electronic signatures and document management.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
