Job Description

Responsible for: The Front-End Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining MicroSourcing's in-house custom-built ERP-MicroStatus front end application architecture and ensuring that all user inputs are properly validated leveraging reusable code and libraries where applicable.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and support of MicroStatus and other Microsourcing products and technologies:
  • Maintain a current understanding of all systems and features supported by Microsourcing and the Software Development team to maximize the benefits of the technology to the business
  • Participate in the enhancement of supported Business applications, automation technologies and services
  • Provide general maintenance of Business applications and automation technologies including archiving, restoration and service deactivation
  • Provide 2nd level escalation for production support issues and customer concerns.

Process automation design and application builds:
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of MicroStatus and other automation requirements by building reusable code and optimizing application responsiveness.
  • Work closely with the UI/UX designer to determine the structure and design of web pages, striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design ensuring an optimized result.
  • Ensure that all user inputs are properly validated.
  • Maintain brand consistency
  • Follow prescribed SDLC & DevOps processes as well as comply with security best practices & policies.
  • Analyze operational results and user-feedback of supported applications to proactively seek opportunities for improvement in performance and make recommendations to management.

Technical Skills improvement:
  • Proactively work on improving technical competencies and seek out learning opportunities where available.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Evaluate new technologies and trends.

Other:
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as may be requested from time to time by the Software Development Lead.

KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understanding of SDLC
    • Scrum, Agile Methodology
    • DevOps
    • Ci/CD
  • Experience with web technologies and frontend frameworks, e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS and Web design libraries (e.g. Bootstrap, Material UI, TailwindUI).
  • Deep understanding of Single Page Applications, page components and routing
  • Experience with integrating front-end React web apps with Microservices
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Working knowledge of Data Access and Databases (Microservices, REST APIs, Postgres, AWS Glue)

  • Working knowledge of development tools and IDEs (VS Code, GitLab)
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure concepts and technologies (Docker and Kubernetes, AWS Cloud)
  • Knowledge of Software Design and Architecture
  • Strong Analytical skills and ability to understand complex processes and systems
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to build relationships & work collaboratively with clients and organizational peers
  • Attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS AND TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Programming, Computer science and other relevant degrees
  • 5+ years experience within similar role
  • Experience working directly with clients
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Subject to business demands, additional hours may be required
  • May be required to travel and work across various sites
