Freight Forwarding Operator w/ Rates & Quotation Management (Remote)

Job Description:

The Freight (Air, Sea, Land) Operator is responsible for managing the operational aspects of freight forwarding, including quotation, booking, documentation, and shipment tracking. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using freight management systems and tools.

• Responsibilities:

• Quotation and Rate Management

Research and obtain competitive freight rates from various carriers and transportation providers for air, sea, and land shipments.

• Utilize rate comparison tools and platforms (e.g., Trucker) to optimize pricing.

Prepare accurate and timely freight quotations for clients.

• Follow up on quotations to secure bookings.

• Data Management

Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment information in Excel Online for FRA and USCAN regions.

• Monitor flight schedules and update shipment records accordingly.

Upload necessary documents to relevant systems.

• Booking and Documentation

Book air freight shipments through airline websites and Trucker platforms.

• Create and manage S-files and C-files for FRA and USCAN shipments, including data entry, document generation, and file organization.

• Shipment Tracking and Updates

Monitor shipment progress using tracking tools and websites.

• Update shipment records with departure (ATD) and arrival (ATA) times and routing information in the Consol system.

• Qualifications:

Strong understanding of international freight forwarding, particularly air freight.

• Proficiency in using freight management systems and tools.

Cargo wise one experience required

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially Excel Online.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience in the freight forwarding industry.

• Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
