Job Summary: The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filling, and inbound and outbound shipping activities, while ensuring the accuracy of all transactions.
Operate forklifts or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and stack materials.- Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness.
Adhere to all safety and operational guidelines regarding forklift use.
Load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas.
- Transport products to and from designated areas in the warehouse.
Stack products in specified locations using forklift or other materials handling equipment.
Conduct physical counts and maintain accurate inventory records.- Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
Ensure that materials are properly labeled and stored in compliance with safety regulations.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping or delivery.
- Ensure accurate order processing by verifying orders against delivery documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Assist in maintaining warehouse security and compliance with safety policies.
Complete and maintain records of material movements and other warehouse activities.- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures and practices.
- Licenses and Certifications:
Valid forklift operator certification.
- Compliance with local, state, or federal requirements for forklift operation.
Ability to operate various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and recording transactions.
Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.- Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation purposes.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.- Safety-conscious attitude and adherence to safety protocols.
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., cold storage, outdoor areas).
