Position: Food Server- Reporting to: Dietitian/ Canteen Manager
Performs a variety of unskilled manual duties in the kitchen in the preparation and service of food to hospital in-patient and personnel.
- Qualification Requirement
A graduate of any course in the Philippines with experience in serving meal and with good moral character.
- Ask for patients meal census counts.
- Shall assist in the preparation work such as:
- Washing, peeling, trimming, sorting, and cutting of fruits and vegetables
- Weighing, washing, cleaning and cutting of meat and poultry
- Washing, scaling and cutting of fish and shellfish
- Shall be knowledgeable on the proper cut of beef, pork, fish, chicken, fruits and vegetables for different recipes.
- Wash and return used pans, wok, ladle, knife, chopping, board, etc. to the pots and pans area after every use.
- Maintains and clean the kitchen, production area, osteorized feeding room, receiving area, and other premises, dispose of garbage, and keep the kitchen and the dining room free from insect and vermin.
- Shall defrost refrigerator and freezers.
- Shall assume the duties of the cook in the latter's absence, from time to time as may be assigned by the Nutritionist Dietitian
- Shall perform other related task as per instruction of immediate supervisor
- Adapt effective means of equipment care handling and proper operation of utensils.
- Collects Diet list from different nurse station
- Shall cook rice and prepares the snack; if any
- Prepares spices, condiments, and mixed flavoring materials for ingredients, according to instruction, as needed in the day's menu
- Help in apportioning of food distribution in patients tray service.
- Loads food trays in the food conveyor
- Do actual distribution of patients meal
- Collect, wash, and return used trays, plates, flat wares and glass to the kitchen storage area after every use.
- Shall clean counter tables, dining room tables and chairs after each meal
- Helps unload purchases from delivery vehicles to the proper storage areas, and carry these food supplies from the storeroom to the food preparation area, as needed.
- Prepares Ostoerized feeding with the guidance of the Nutritionist-Dietitian
- Shall prepare food for OR and DR
- Shall clean the Dietary Office.
- General Maintenance/Inventory Helper
- Shall unload purchased from the delivery vehicles to the proper storage areas, and carry these food supplies from the storeroom to the preparation area
- Helps in receiving goods from suppliers with the inventory crew
- Shall set the tables with linen, plates, silverware, glassware; shall serve the food prepared accordingly ( as per request of the client) and shall collect utensils after the catering service for cleaning and storage of the same
- Shall deliver food for OR/DR patients
- Helps prepare/deliver food for Board and other special function of the hospital
- Shall maintain cleanliness of the dietary department ( dietary office, receiving area, production area, washing area)
- Wash/dry rugs, dumping cloth
