Job Description/Specifications:
1 . Get All Supplies From Steward Or Pantry And Set-Up All Mise-En-Place In The Proper Places On Each Table Of The Restaurant. See To It That All Cutleries Are Neatly Aligned And Clean, Glass Wares Are Spotless And Salt Pepper Shakers Are Filled And Clean.
- Set His Assigned Tables And Ensure That His Service Area Is Well-Stocked, Set-Up Any Special Displays That May Be Used For a Particular Meal Period.
- Study The Menu And Familiarize One's Self With The Specialties and Stock Items And Practice Suggestive Selling.
- Greet Guests And Help Captain Waiter Seat Guests, Distribute Menu Cards, Fill Water Glasses, Take Cocktail Orders, Serve Cocktails, Allow Ample Time For Menu Decisions To Be Made, Take Orders, Answer Questions About Menu Items And Make Suggestions About Dishes And Wines If The Guests So Desire.
- Turn Captain's Orders To Kitchen With Consideration To Timing Of Preceding Courses. Pick All Food And Other Needed Items From Various Kitchen Stations Or Bar To Be Served To Guests.
- Serve Orders In The Approved Manner and attend To Guests Needs During The Course Of The Meal.
- Refill Water, Clear Soiled Dishes, And Replenish Bread/Butter Supply If Needed.
- Should, At Least Once During The Meal, Check With The Guest To See That Everything Is Served To His Satisfaction.
- Clear the Table After The Meal, Present Check, And Inquire Again If The Guest Is Satisfied.
- Clean the Table After The Guests Have Left And Re-Set The Table For The Next Patron
