About the role:
The Senior Financial Analyst will oversee the financial operations of the client's eCommerce business and play a critical role in managing financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting to support strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the correct unit costs for each SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) that feeds into their ERP system and ensuring COGs are correct across the business
- Maintaining the overall data integrity of SKUs including inventory, invoices, prices, margins, etc.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist with Accounts Payable (AP), 3-way matching , and Accounts Receivable (AR) Responsibilities
- Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; CPA or CA designation preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting or analysis
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the eCommerce or retail industry particularly working with lots of SKUs/inventory codes
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Proficiency in eCommerce platforms such as Shopify
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial analysis
