Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for AU clients in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and reconciled.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow reports for clients.
- Ensure financial statements are compliant with AU regulations and company policies.
Accounts Management:
- Manage and oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions for AU clients.
- Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and fixed asset register updates.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations on financial performance and discrepancies.
- Handle inter-company transactions and reconciliations for AU-based subsidiaries or branches.
Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, including GST, PAYG, superannuation, and corporate tax.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and income tax returns.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Stay up to date on changes to Australian tax legislation and advise clients on implications for their financial operations.
Client Support & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for AU clients, providing financial advice, support, and timely responses to inquiries.
- Provide regular updates to clients on financial performance, cash flow management, and tax obligations.
- Build strong relationships with AU clients by offering tailored financial solutions to meet their unique business needs.
- Assist clients in implementing and optimizing financial software and accounting systems compliant with AU standards.
Process Improvement & Automation:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the finance team to automate workflows where applicable (e.g., invoicing, payment processing).
- Implement best practices in financial reporting for AU clients to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- CPA, CA, or equivalent certification (preferred).
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Financial Accountant, preferably with a focus on supporting Australian clients.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Experience with AU tax compliance, including GST, PAYG, and superannuation.
- Experience with financial software systems, such as Xero, MYOB, or similar platforms commonly used in Australia.
Skills:
- Excellent understanding of AU financial regulations, including tax law and financial reporting standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems.
