Job Description
Managerial
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains professional accounting staff in the Finance department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Assist in goals setting and performance improvements for finance staff.
- Provides technical support to team members.
- Develop best practices to enhance operational performance and productivity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Accounts Receivable and Payable
- Manage account payables and receivable activities in a timely manner.
- Review vendor invoices and employee expense claims to ensure compliance with Client's policy.
- Prepare month-end intercompany billing and review intercompany reconciliation.
Treasury
- Review bank reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of records.
- Review payment instructions.
- Perform account reconciliation activities on periodic basis.
General Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards including those relating to PPE, consolidation, leases, financial instruments and tax effect accounting.
- Compilation and preparation of workpapers for GST and income tax purposes, with guidance from Australian finance team.
- Supervise financial and accounting processes and ensure adherence to the policies and laws.
- Balances and reconciles accounts; adjusts journal entries.
- Register all finance transactions accurately for future references.
- Perform necessary variance and other accounting analysis to identify and resolve any discrepancies or gaps.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements are reviewed and submitted timely.
- Assist and/or prepare for audits.
- Provide support to other ad hoc tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Must be a certified public accountant.
- Five to seven years of managerial experience required.
- Prior experience in a private equity industry or capital-intensive business is a plus.
