Position Overview:The Tax Associate is responsible for managing the preparation and filing of various tax documents, ensuring compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulations, and supporting tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with audits, and liaising with government agencies.
Maintain and record all financial transactions in the company's books of accounts as required by the BIR.
- Organize and analyze clients financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Identify opportunities to minimize tax liability through deductions and other tax strategies.- Support tax planning initiatives to optimize tax strategies.
Prepare and file necessary tax forms and alpha lists.
- Handle the preparation and submission of the annual income tax calculation.
Establish and update client records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.- Assist with audits by gathering financial information and coordinating with auditors.
Handle BIR audits, including filing and processing required documents.
- Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts related to VAT, Expanded Withholding Tax (EWT), and Creditable Withholding Tax (CWT).
Maintain and archive the company's BIR forms and other documentary requirements (e.g., Alphalist, Summary List of Sales and Purchases (SLSP), Form 2307).- Process quarterly business permits and ensure compliance with local government regulations.
Liaise with the BIR, Local Government Units (LGU), and other government agencies as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in tax preparation, filing, and compliance.
Experience with BIR regulations and requirements.- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
