Job Description:
The Control Analyst is responsible for a broad range of responsibilities that include, but are not limited to risk mediation, reporting, process enhancement, procedure administration, project management, and administration for Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Reconciliation and Auditing function on various JH Life, LTC, and Annuity accounts
- Analysis and investigation to resolve outstanding variances or issues
- Maintain traceability of research and provide detailed monthly analysis of outstanding balances
- Ensure suspense balances are maintained within corporate standards for each account
- Work with various staff in operation areas to identify discrepancies and clear items in a timely manner
- Preparation of journal entries as needed to resolve discrepancies
- Escalation of any variances and open items in suspense accounts and other reconciliation tasks
- Perform reconciliations as per the frequency required
- Maintain procedures and documentation as directed
- Ad-hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 -3 years experience in financial or general accounting field or otherwise relevant business operations experience
- Strong PC skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot, VLook up); big plus if knowledgeable with PowerBI, Alteryx, Infor, Smartview
- Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and work effectively in a changing environment
- General accounting principles
- Comprehensive product knowledge is a plus
