Finance Controller

Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy

Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the financial landscape.

• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Drive strategic initiatives related to ERP system upgrades and enhancements within the Finance division.

• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the Chief Financial Officer based on financial analysis.

Leads the company's financial transactional outsourcing and SLA management with Shared Services and/or other third parties.

• Own the Chart of Accounts and Manual of Authority implementation, alignment and compliance

• Financial Operations Oversight

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with the Tax Accountant and Legal team to ensure tax compliance, strategic tax planning, and legal matters are appropriately addressed.

Assume responsibility for all tax filing for the companies within the group upon the ERP implementation.

• Ensure accurate and effective collection, recording, analysis, and investigation of financial data.

Identify and assess financial risks, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks.

• Continuously evaluate and enhance financial processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Collaborate with the Credit and Collection Manager to optimize credit policies, customer payment strategies, and cash management.

• Implement best practices in financial management.

• Pricing Control and Management

Oversee periodic pricing reviews and ensure proper pricing and discount controls.

• Ensures authorized and correct pricing and discount set in the system.

Provides value adding Profitability reports per Customer, Segment, Business unit.

• Treasury Management

Work closely with the Finance Operations and Treasury Manager to optimize funding requirements and bank relationships.

• Review cash forecasts regularly to determine adequacy of funds, maximize interest earnings and meet business local and foreign currency payment requirements.

Approve amount for transfer and placement to avoid any overdraft, maximize earnings on interest.

• Liaises with CFO for funding, placements of excess funds, sourcing of foreign currencies and other daily treasury operational requirements.

Ensure compliance with Dividend Policy. Coordinates with Legal and Tax Departments for related statutory and fiscal compliance requirements

• Leadership and Team Management

Develop competency of staff to make them successful in their job.

• Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals.

Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture within the finance team.

• Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role.

Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or CFA is preferred.

• Strong understanding of financial analysis, regulations, risk management and compliance.

Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing teams.

• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and planning tools.
