Altus Capital Partners is a boutique investor and asset manager, focused on special situations and structured finance investments in Southeast Asia.
The business currently has footprint in Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore, and Hong Kong with Business Development, Asset Management and Operations teams spread across the region.
We are currently looking for a Finance Associate to join our Finance and Control team. The role will be based in our BGC office.
Job Responsibilities
1. Corporate Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the book-keeping of our portfolio companies based in Manila
- Look to strengthen current internal portfolio accounting and reporting system for the various subsidiaries of the company
- Develop and implement a system of regular and timely internal management reports from the different portfolio companies
- Provide the required inputs and partner with internal and/or third-party investor reporting
- Manage operational elements of our investments, including:
-Reviewing checks prepared by supervised credits
-Review collections against schedules
-Monitor and collect receivables
2. Management of outsourced partners
- Manage relationship and task delegation with our third-party accountants and auditors across each entity if required
- Create new strategies and agreements to extract maximum value and efficiency from outsourced partners
3. Finance Operations
- Maintain oversight of payment processing, finding ways to create efficiencies and reduce delays on payments to suppliers, contractors and for employee expenses
- Manage sales and collections for the portfolio companies
- Monitor supplier contracts, ensuring both cost effectiveness and timeliness of payments
- Monitor budgets across the different business units. Partner with each of the teams, across all locations to advise on planning of annual budgets
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in numeric subject, including but not limited to Accounting; Finance, Economics, Mathematics
- Chartered Accountant/CPA holder is preferred
- This role will fit a candidate with 2/4 years of experience in a similar position
- Has experience working as one or more of the following roles: financial controller, audit, accountant or financial operations. Any background in tax would be an advantage but not a primary necessity
- Must possess excellent Excel skills
- Highly detail-oriented and demonstrated ability to multi-task, multi-hat and work with regional teams
- Fully accustomed to working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and international environment
- Highly proficient in written and spoken English and Tagalog
