  • JOB SUMMARY

The basic duty and responsibility of the position is to contribute to the delivery of Quality Patient Care and Safety consistent with Makati Life Medical Center's Vision, Mission and Values and the organization's strategic objectives.

Ensures the efficient, smooth and economical operation of Sewage treatment plant, chiller plant, electrical substation facilities and emergency power system. Evaluates and analyze data parameter and monitors regularly the daily actual load factor and power factor of whole electrical system. Ensure the efficient, smooth and economical operation of water system. Routine monitoring and evaluates data parameters of water system (hot, cold and processed water). Analyze regularly the actual water demand. Ensure that water storage has enough capacity for daily requirements. Monitoring and routine inspection of all ventilation equipment and air- conditioning (HVAC) system. Check and evaluate the condition of equipment, coordinate with BMS Technician to validate actual status of the unit through BMS control. Timely and regularly monitor of fire sprinkler system. Ensures that fire pumps and jockey pump equipment are in normal condition. During service interruption (impairment of fire sprinkler system), strictly monitor and coordinates contractor's activity. Ensures the efficient and safe use of all facilities, devices, fixtures and appliances (electrical/plumbing/electronics and communication/electro-mechanical). Performs regular inspection, repairs and plan maintenance program on assigned facilities equipment. Attend any assigned work request and concerns from patient and end- users. Plans, implements, monitors and evaluates standard working procedures and work instructions on assigned areas and equipment. Ensures proper implementation and compliance of required safety procedures and wearing of personal protection equipment. Coordinates with contractor's and service providers on every preventive maintenance or repair activities on assigned areas. Updates and properly endorsed all information necessary to continue smooth transitions of duty.
  • KEY FUNCTION(S)

  • Consults and discusses with the Equipment Operations Engineer and/or Section Manager regarding the existing management of the department documentation, procedures, processing and protocols.

  • Participates in the pre-fire plan program as well as other emergency drills required by the hospital and by the state. Provides recommendations on evacuation procedures.

  • Evaluates system performance and develops interventions, strategies where appropriate.

  • Ensures proper documentation, daily accomplishment reports, records, monitoring checklist and equipment status report.

  • Ensures smooth coordination of functions and activities.

  • Ensures the maintenance of an optimum environment that is clean, safe and quiet for staff, guest and patients. Assures the implementation of EOC standards in the department.

  • Daily inventory of tools and equipment ensures proper turnover from outgoing to incoming foreman.

  • Ensures the implementation of hospital policies, standards and Associates Creed.

  • Ensures the safety compliance on a respective area of operations, regular inspection on assigned areas and monitor any activities of the equipment.

  • Coordinates and reports any incident or unusual condition of equipment which may affects operations of the hospital. Provides immediate courses of action to be taken
  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively participates in organization wide activities and taskforces assigned relevant to the corporate Vision, Mission and Values, and the strategic objectives of the organization.

  • Refines skills through constant training, seminars and various educational tools.

  • Participates and monitors the Section/Department/Group's compliance to the hospital's Environment of Care (EOC) standards

  • Maintains and adheres to strict confidentiality of all records/documents and patients information purposes.

    In addition to the above enumerated duties and responsibilities, the incumbent is expected to deliver Quality Patient Care and Safety in any situation throughout the Medical Center whether self-initiated or directed, or whenever the opportunity presents itself even if such action or service is not directly related to the incumbent's core tasks and responsibilities as long as it is aligned and consistent with corporate Vision, Mission and Values and improves customer service delivery.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS / COMPETENCIES

_Academic/Professional Qualifications_

Graduate of any Engineering course or undergraduate/high school graduate with vocational or technical course related to electrical, electro-mechanical, electronics, plumbing and air-conditioning.

_Relevant Experience_

At least three (3) to five (5) years work experienced preferably in installation, repairs and maintenance of industrial plant facilities and hospital facilities and equipment.

  • Skills/Competencies and Personal Attributes:


_Technical Skills_

Good analysis in equipment troubleshooting skills

Adequate report writing skills

Computer literate is preferred

Able to interpret electrical diagram and mechanical drawings/electronics diagram/plumbing layout

Knowledge on fire-fighting, emergency medical service and hazardous incident; principles of accident prevention.

_Interpersonal Skills_

Ability to relate well with all levels; both medical and non- medical staff

_Personal Attributes_

Well-groomed, hardworking, focused and meticulous, good work ethics, self-motivated, high maturity level, result oriented, customer service driven.
  • WORKING CONDITION

_In the course of performing the duties of the position, the_ _Technician - Operation __shall be occasionally exposed to_ _hazardous and accident prone areas which requires prior_ _coordination and preparation. The Facilities Technician shall be_ _required to wear protective gear during the performance of their_ _assigned task._
