Workplace Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and improvement of building systems and infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for occupants.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and security systems
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
- Oversee renovation and construction projects
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts
- Analyze energy consumption and implement energy-saving measures
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate repairs
- Prepare reports on maintenance activities, energy usage, and project status
- Manage facilities-related budgets and control expenses
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent competency related to electrical field.
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities management or related field
- Knowledge of building systems, construction practices, and facility operations
- Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Registered Master Electrician) are a plus
