Job Description

About the Role

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for a range of tasks to help their business services team deliver timely service to internal and external stakeholders. The core focus is to process reconciliations in AP, AR, payrolls, etc.
  • Bank reconciliations
Day-to-day creditor and debtor data entry
  • Regular reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
Entering and processing a variety of payrolls
  • EOFY Payroll Finalisation & STP
Assisting in the Month End process
  • BAS/IAS preparation
Review and tidy of client data files in preparation for annual tax compliance and/or annual audits
  • Transition of client files to Xero as required
Provision of Xero software training to clients
  • Responding to client bookkeeping and software queries
Client billing
  • Prepare, lodge and reconcile payroll tax returns, workcover annual returns
General accounts administration support
  • Maintain process notes and suggest ways that current processes may be automated or more efficient
Opportunities to roll out new systems or improvements for clients
  • Provide Training to more Junior bookkeepers

The role will suit a Bookkeeper/Accountant who is looking for the next step in their professional career. Additionally, the successful candidate will have:
  • At least 3+ years experience in a bookkeeping role
Experience in Payroll, including awards-based payroll and EBA'S
  • Experience in Accounts Payable
Experience in AU Payroll, bank reconciliation, BAS/IAS preparation
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and time management skills
A reliable work ethic that ensures prompt communication with clients and team members
  • Be adaptable to working with clients in different industries
