The Sustainability/ESG Consultant plays a key role in advising our clients on strategies and initiatives to enhance their sustainability and ESG performance. This position involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop and implement innovative solutions that align with global sustainability goals and best practices. The Sustainability/ESG Consultant also assists clients in preparing sustainability reports compliant with global sustainability frameworks such as GRI, TCFD, SASB, ESRS, etc.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ESG assessments and analyses to identify opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to improve ESG performance.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including clients, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
- Guide clients in the preparation and reporting of sustainability data.
- Stay current on global reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and ensure compliance.
- Assist in the development of sustainability reports and communication materials.
- Assist in the creation of sustainability policies, metrics, and monitoring systems.
- Account and report ESG-related assets and transactions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging issues, and best practices in sustainability and ESG.
- Provide thought leadership and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
- Conduct research to support the development of client-specific sustainability strategies.
- Deliver training sessions to clients and internal teams on sustainability and ESG topics.
- Develop educational materials and resources to enhance understanding and awareness.
- Work with other service lines and groups (i.e. Tax, accounting, audit) to meet client requirements.
- Develop and demonstrate independent thoughts and leadership ideas that can further enhance our drive toward operational and service excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or in a relevant field (e.g., sustainability, environmental science, business).
- CPA or Professionally Certified in a relevant Sustainability field.
- 3 or more years of experience in sustainability consulting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and social issues impacting businesses.
- Knowledgable on IFRS/US GAAP
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
