Job Summary
As an Engineer, you will be responsible for the research, characterization, and product development of power supply solutions for automotive applications.
Responsibilities
Perform research, development, and design of power supplies for automotive applications using the company's products. This includes but is not limited to the definition of specifications, design calculations, schematic capture, board layout, component selection/evaluation, and testing/characterization. Designs shall be for customers, as well as internal and external training materials or board products.
Applications-level characterization of new IC products includes analysis of data/product performance and feedback to relevant parties for continued product improvement.
Low and high voltage evaluation of power electronic components
Provide design support and technical advice to the company's customers
Creation of technical documentation, e.g., for Application Notes or Datasheets
Collaborate with and support related automotive and industrial groups like Business Development, Marketing, ASIC Development, Operations, Quality Department, etc.
Other duties related to the role as assigned
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
Good understanding of Power Electronics or general electrical engineering fundamentals
2 years of experience in board-level analog or mixed-signal electronics design, implementation, testing, and characterization
Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience in technical report writing
Very good command of spoken and written English
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Good learning capability and willingness to pursue further education
Resilient under stress, even in challenging situations
Strong organizational skills
Team player
Willing to travel to support customers and conduct technical training
Preferred
Design experience in any of the following areas: power converters/conversion/management, switching/switch-mode power supply units (PSU), inverters, power electronics design equipment, analog electronics design, control loop design and power magnetics design (transformer, chokes or inductors)
Good understanding of the basic power converters such as flyback, buck, or boost regulators. Experience in the actual design of said converters is a plus.
Good knowledge of power electronic components (e.g., IGBT, MOSFET, SiC MOSFET, Gate Driver) or inverter systems
