Overview
The role of Engineer - CAD is crucial to our organization as it involves creating detailed designs for mechanical components and products using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of designs, contributing to the successful development and manufacturing of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings according to project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to develop design concepts and solutions.
- Conduct design analysis, simulations, and prototyping to validate and refine mechanical designs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all design work.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to optimize product designs and performance.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, and specifications.
- Support the transition of designs to manufacturing by providing comprehensive design documentation and support.
- Identify and resolve design issues, deviations, and manufacturing challenges in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate materials and components for designs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes, tools, and standards.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and provide technical expertise and support as needed.
- Adhere to project timelines, budgets, and quality objectives for design deliverables.
- Stay updated on new CAD technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance design capabilities.
- Maintain accurate and organized design-related documentation and files.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Proven experience in creating complex 2D and 3D designs for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to conduct design analysis, simulations, and tolerance stack-up studies.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in design work.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to present and explain design concepts and solutions.
