JOB OVERVIEW:
The role is responsible for strategic power supply planning and sourcing that guarantees competitiveness adhering to retail portfolio optimization and revenue maximization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Power Supply Planning, Sourcing, Strategy & Acquisition:
- Origination of power supply contract acquisition initiatives and lead the discussion, negotiation until execution of PSAs/Offer Sheets with potential Generation Companies and/or Suppliers and/or Electric Cooperatives, as applicable, with emphasis on key commercial terms guaranteeing competitive terms that adhere to regulatory standards.
- Assess and/or prepare supply offer sheets and propose recommendations to Management, and prepare necessary documentary requirements thereof.
- Prepare, assess and lead negotiations on power supply contracts with potential suppliers, and prepare, if necessary, power supply contracts in coordination with LRC and other internal stakeholder.
- Identify, propose and execute supply contracting strategies that maximize opportunities in the market while maintaining flexibility and competitiveness.
- Engage proactively and regularly with potential and existing suppliers/generation companies/ electric cooperatives to establish and/or maintain close collaboration exploring potential synergies or opportunities.
2. Market Intelligence:
- Keep abreast of local/international trends affecting prices of commodities and WESM prices, and continuously conduct analysis relevant to the Business Unit's contracting strategy and supply portfolio.
- Undertake regular market research on relevant developments in the Philippine electricity market and competitor analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Holds a Bachelor's degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Finance or other business-related courses; MBA degree is a plus.
EXPERIENCE: With at least 2 years of relevant experience in the power industry, particularly in Energy Sourcing/Contracting, Trading, and/or Supply & Demand Portfolio Management.
