The Email Campaign Operations Specialist is responsible for building and executing programs specifically email campaigns in Marketo as requested by marketing managers. This detail-oriented person will work closely with marketing managers to receive requests, build emails, gather feedback and edits, use filters and basic knowledge of database to build target lists, and coordinate with Campaign Operations Manager and Lifecycle Manager to schedule email sends.

What You'll Do

  • Cloning program templates, b uilding emails in Marketo utilizing tokens or directly editing copy in designer, adjusting HTML as needed , communicating with requestor to gather edits until final approval is received
  • Managing email repl ies either automated or human replies using inbox reply management software to forward to correct internal contact in timely manner
  • Assisting in building emails for nurtures , identifying gaps in content, and reviewing automated marketing sequences
  • Ensuring design and layouts of emails are optimized , user and mobile-friendly
  • Proofreading messaging , testing all links in emails to ensure proper utms and correct urls
  • Setting up A/B testing and reporting on which subject line, images, or content is performing better
  • Creating landing pages and form experiences using templates in WordPress , testing landing pages to ensure proper end-to-end flow
  • Basic segmentation to create targeting lists for outbound email sends

What You'll Bring


  • Direct experience with Marketo enterprise-level marketing automation (or similar MAP) and Salesforce a must (or similar CRM)
  • Experience creating assets in WordPress (or similar web content management system)
  • Strong understanding of smart lists, smart campaigns, email programs, engagement programs, segmentation, dynamic content, and email best practices
  • Strong understanding of modern marketing best practices, tools, technologies, and KPIs
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and data privacy requirements as they relate to marketing and contact data management (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR, data privacy, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of the different types of email marketing campaigns ( single send , triggered/transactional, nurture, operational, etc.)
  • Ability to manage project communications within a ticket management system
  • Ability to work within an agile environment and collaborate online with cross-functional and cross-departmental teams on a worldwide scope
  • Strong attention to detail, validation, and summarized reporting abilities
  • 2 + years experience with marketing automation and email marketing
  • Marketo Certification/Equivalent a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML or other development languages is a plus
