Role Overview:
The Email and SMS Marketing Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing marketing campaigns across email and SMS platforms. This role will play a critical part in enhancing communication with our clients supporters, driving donations, and improving overall campaign performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Management: Develop, execute, and manage email and SMS marketing campaigns from conception through to delivery and analysis, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor engagement strategies.
- Content Creation: Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling and persuasive content for emails and SMS messages that resonate with target audiences and drive action.
- Segmentation and Targeting: Utilize audience segmentation and targeting strategies to ensure personalized messaging that meets the unique needs of different donor segments.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates) and provide actionable insights to improve future campaigns.
- A/B Testing: Implement A/B testing strategies to optimize subject lines, content, and timing, continuously enhancing campaign effectiveness.
- Database Management: Maintain and update the email and SMS marketing databases to ensure accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Integration: Work with the development team to integrate email and SMS marketing with other platforms and tools (e.g., CRM systems, donation platforms) to streamline processes and enhance data flow.
- Trends and Best Practices: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in email and SMS marketing to ensure innovative and effective campaign strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in email and SMS marketing, preferably in the nonprofit or fundraising sector.
- Proficient in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and SMS marketing tools.
- Strong understanding of marketing analytics and metrics, with the ability to interpret data to inform decisions.
- Excellent written communication skills, with a knack for crafting engaging and persuasive messages.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations related to email and SMS marketing (e.g., GDPR, CAN-SPAM).
