Job Description

Electrical Technician NEEDED FOR U.S. NAVAL STATION AT GUANTANAMO BAY!

DCO Energy (DCO) will operate, maintain, monitor, and adjust the day-to-day operations for the new power plant facility, which is a combined cycle power plant (CCPP), at the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (NSGB).

Position: Electrical Technician

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE U.S. NAVAL BASE, GUANTANAMO BAY, CUBA. This is a Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) approved position.

DCO was formed in 2000 with a core team of energy experts.DCO Energy (DCO) will operate, maintain, monitor, and adjust the day-to-day operations for the new power plant facility, which is a combined cycle power plant (CCPP), at the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (NSGB). As such, DCO will operate and maintain Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Plant Auxiliary Equipment, Solar Arrays and Emergency Generators.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and electronic control components of the facility.This equipment includes, but is not limited to the Gas Turbine, DCS, HRSG, Steam Turbine, and other auxiliary equipment.Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety.Work under the direction of the Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following.Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Diagnoses and repairs the cause of electric and control equipment malfunctions, including transformers, relays, switches, breakers, controls and monitoring devices.

Installs new electrical equipment as required.

Properly uses electrical test equipment and other tools.

Keeps Plant Manager fully informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations.Performs position responsibilities as a team member, electrical trainer working hand-in-hand with the Operator Maintainers.

Assists the team by carrying out plant operations as needed.

Performs (with assistance as needed) the maintenance of equipment by cleaning, adjusting, tightening, performing preventative or corrective maintenance and identifying equipment in need of corrective maintenance.Writes, submits and completes work orders.

Initiates purchase orders, coordinates with and directs outside contractors as required to ensure completion of position responsibilities.

Performs capital project and major program responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Operator.

Capable of troubleshoot solar PV inverters, ground fault issues, communications issue

Reads, understands and complies with all facility safety and regulatory procedures.

Work shift hours, overtime or irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility

Maintains the cleanliness of the electrical rooms and the I&E shop

Cooperate with and participate as a team member

Fully supports the use of a computerized Maintenance Management System by displaying a proficiency in using the system and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

AA in Electrical System or equivalent from a two-year college to technical school; or eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or a combination of experience and education.High School diploma or equivalent required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must possess knowledge of all facets of plant operations.The candidate will need to possess the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, write routine reports, solve practical problems, make competent decisions in emergency situations, clearly communicate tasks. This individual will provide electrical and instrumentation basic skills training to the operation staff.Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to do reaching, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), walking, and stooping.

DCO Energy is approved by the POEA to hire Overseas Filipino Workers through PARMAN INC for work at the U.S. Naval Base - Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
