Ecommerce Forecasting Specialist

The Ecommerce Forecasting Specialist is responsible for developing accurate SKU-level sales forecasts for our e-commerce business. This role requires analyzing historical sales data, understanding run rates, factoring in growth projections, and incorporating upcoming promotional plans to create reliable forecasts. The forecasts will inform inventory planning, supply chain management, and budgeting decisions.

• Key Responsibilities:

Analyze historical sales data and identify trends, seasonality, and other factors affecting product demand.

• Incorporate upcoming promotional plans, marketing campaigns, and pricing strategies into the forecasting process.

Update the regional sales forecast monthly, at the SKU level, incorporating the historical analysis and growth projections

• Monitor forecast accuracy based on actual performance, report out to stakeholders and use it to make adjustments to the forecast.

Prepare and present forecasting reports, highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities.

• Communicate forecasts, assumptions, and potential risks clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional regional teams, such as merchandising, marketing, and supply chain, to identify opportunities related to inventory.

• Participate in strategic planning sessions and provide insights to support decision-making processes.

Identify opportunities to enhance forecasting methodologies and processes

• Implement best practices and stay up-to-date with industry trends and forecasting techniques.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in demand forecasting, preferably in an e-commerce or retail environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.

Proficiency in statistical analysis software and forecasting tools.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

Knowledge of supply chain management principles and inventory optimization techniques is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
