About the Role
As our Accounting and Finance Expert, you will be responsible for managing our end-to-end accounting operations, including bookkeeping, financial projections, cash management, and U.S. tax compliance. Your expertise will help streamline our financial processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and strategic financial planning as we scale our eCommerce operations globally.
What You'll Do: General Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Chart of Accounts Setup: Establish and maintain an optimized chart of accounts using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Daily Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting tasks, including expense tracking, revenue recognition, and preparation of financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports).
- Financial Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for reliable reporting and analysis.
2. Financial Projections and Cash Management:
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Management: Oversee all payments and collections to ensure smooth cash flow.
- Financial Projections: Support the development of financial forecasts to align with the company's growth strategy and future needs.
- Liquidity & Cash Flow Oversight: Implement robust processes to monitor liquidity, ensuring financial stability and agility.
What You'll Do: First 100 Days
What does a successful first 100 days on the job look like Here are a few of the key initiatives you'll accomplish:
- Establish Financial Framework: Set up and optimize our chart of accounts and accounting software, creating a solid foundation for financial operations.
- Develop Cash Flow Monitoring Processes: Implement tools and procedures to manage and forecast cash flow effectively.
- Ensure Tax Compliance: Review and update all necessary tax documents and processes, ensuring full compliance with U.S. regulations.
- Create Financial Reporting Templates: Design standardized financial reports for income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
- Build Financial Projections: Collaborate with leadership to develop a financial roadmap aligned with our business goals.

- Prefer to operate within established systems rather than building new ones.
- Lack of hands-on experience with eCommerce marketplaces, finance/accounting service platforms, and tools.
- Are uncomfortable embracing new technologies, especially AI-driven solutions.
- Are not proactive in problem-solving or hesitant to make autonomous decisions.
Key Requirements (Who You Definitely Are)
Below are the qualities that we're looking for at a minimum:
- 3+ Years of Experience in Accounting & Financial Management: Strong background in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and cash management.
- E-Commerce Experience: Proven experience working with a variety of clients in the e-commerce space, leveraging platforms like Shopify and relevant marketplaces.
- Proficiency with Accounting Software: Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent English Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills (C2 or Fluent) for effective collaboration with a global team.
Strongly Preferred (Who You Maybe Are)
While not required, it's *strongly* preferred if you have:
- Experience with Cross-Border Transactions: Familiarity with international tax regulations and cross-border financial operations.
- Tax Specialist (U.S. Tax Focus): Knowledge of U.S. tax preparation and compliance, including regulatory filings and international tax considerations.
- Startup Experience: Proven ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a high-growth, startup environment.
- CPA or Equivalent Certification: Certification in accounting or finance (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
