TGGCI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Driller/Operator to join our team of professionals. The Driller/Operator will play a crucial role in executing soil testing and geotechnical investigation projects accurately and efficiently. This position requires expertise in operating drilling equipment, conducting soil sampling, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drilling equipment, including but not limited to auger rigs, rotary rigs, and sonic rigs, in accordance with project requirements and safety protocols.
Conduct site reconnaissance and assist in the selection of drilling locations based on project specifications, site conditions, and geotechnical considerations.- Perform drilling activities to obtain soil samples, rock cores, and other geotechnical data using various drilling methods, such as auger drilling, rotary drilling, and coring.
Monitor drilling operations and equipment performance to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Assist in the installation of monitoring wells, piezometers, and other geotechnical instrumentation as needed.
Handle and maintain drilling equipment, tools, and accessories in good working condition, performing routine maintenance and repairs as required.- Collaborate with project managers, geotechnical engineers, and field technicians to coordinate drilling activities and achieve project objectives.
Document drilling activities, soil samples, and field observations accurately and legibly, maintaining detailed records for project documentation and reporting purposes.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents during drilling operations.
Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and drills to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance within the organization.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in drilling operations or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in operating drilling equipment for soil testing, geotechnical investigation, or environmental drilling projects.
- Proficiency in operating various drilling rigs and equipment, including auger rigs and rotary rigs.
Strong understanding of drilling techniques, soil sampling methods, and geotechnical instrumentation.- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of work.
