We are seeking a reliable and experienced Logistics Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining communication with drivers and clients. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Dispatch Operations:- Coordinate and schedule trucking activities, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Assign and dispatch drivers to appropriate routes, considering factors such as load capacity, delivery schedules, and driver availability.- Monitor routes and provide updates to drivers on any changes or adjustments to delivery plans.
Track and report shipment statuses to clients and internal stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing directions, instructions, and support as needed.- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details, resolve issues, and provide exceptional customer service.
Collaborate with other departments (such as warehousing and maintenance) to coordinate logistics activities effectively.
- Documentation and Compliance:
Ensure all required documentation (such as shipping manifests, delivery confirmations, and invoices) is accurate and complete.- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Address any compliance issues promptly and effectively.
Proactively identify potential issues or delays in transportation schedules and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.- Resolve logistics problems and customer complaints in a timely manner, maintaining positive relationships.
Technology Utilization:
Utilize transportation management software and GPS systems to monitor drivers and track shipments.
- Input data accurately and maintain records of dispatch activities.
Proven experience as a logistics dispatcher or similar role within the trucking or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including routing, scheduling, and dispatching.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and colleagues.- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and GPS tracking systems.
Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.
