Primary responsibilities:
- Responsible for all catering and group sales in the hotel, from booking events to their execution
- To prepare departmental budget and forecasts, operating within set parameters, ensure effective cost control
- To establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, throughout and post-conference, exceeding their expectations and encouraging repeat business.
- Conduct site inspections and sales activities as required.
- To work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to prepare monthly forecasts
- To develop the annual business and marketing plan for the department
- Achieves Banquet and Catering budget set out in the yearly business plan for the hotel.
- Appraises performance of Event Manager / Event Executive periodically according to Human Resources policy and initiates appropriate corrective measures to improve deficiencies.
- Manages the department to ensure sufficiency of manpower in accordance to volume of business.
- Ensures each staff is a good sales person to promote hotel's image and businesses at all times.
- Coaches and counsels all staff especially the department and unit manages when applicable.
- Provides and supports the most effective training to all staff regularly.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
REPORT LINE & COMMUNICATION
- Reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Coordinates with all concerned personnel to ensure that all activities are accomplished.
- Communicates effectively with guest, clients, business partners and staff.
