Summary: Founded in 1996, Duplitech is one of L.As most respected independent media service labs. We provide a full range of content delivery solutions: On Disc, On Demand and On DCP. Our in-house services include: 4K film scanning & digital restoration, Blu-ray/DVD authoring, mezzanine package creation & QC for digital release, technical editing and asset conform, standards conversion, subtitling, and audio restoration/up mix.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality checks on video, audio, artwork, and captions.
- Verify technical specifications and file formats.
- Review content for accuracy and consistency.
- Inspect visuals and audio for anomalies and sync issues.
- Ensure content complies with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as industry standards (e.g., closed captioning, ratings, S&P).
- Confirm metadata accuracy, including titles, descriptions, keywords, and other associated data.
- Provide detailed feedback and reports on quality issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an operational role; past quality control experience in media is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify audio, visual, and caption discrepancies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organized and able to manage high volume/fast-paced workloads.
- Understanding of video compression; familiar with standard frame rates, aspect ratios, and codecs.
- Ability to identify interlaced vs. progressive footage.
- Knowledge of streaming video content and familiarity with various platform specs (Samsung, Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, etc.).
- Understanding of quality control processes and methodologies related to digital media is a plus.
- Experience with HDR formats is also a plus.
